  • Fire too close to home

Hot day yesterday (New Years Eve) and a fire broke out about 2 kilometres away near new roadworks. Very close to homes so we kept away. These Bell 214 Helitacks make a hell of a racket and shake the house as they go overhead. They got water from a nearby lake so 3 of them had it under control in no time. Great invention IMO. They had a pretty tough workout at Toodyay on Tuesday only losing 1 house and some sheds.

Glad they got it under control so quickly Isac. The choppers must make this so much easier and I'm sure people will happily put up with a few shakes and the noise, knowing they are helping to keep them safe.

You're dead right P Plates. My closest friend and fellow photographer is a volunteer fire fighter and he loves to see these babies dropping water everywhere. He was helping fight the Toodyay fire on Tuesday and they were the reason that more homes weren't lost.
