  • Rabbit Trap hotel

I was in the Tullamore Pub one day when a couple of pass though workers stopped in the pub and you get talking to people they had told me that they had been to the rabbit trap hotel putting up the new big trap. For some reason it took me awhile to get there but I did it yesterday

Good find. It's a wonder it's not called the 'Big Trap'. Everything else seems to get the label.

Its in Albert about 36 ks down the road from me. I have been meaning to go take some snaps since hearing about the big trap they put up. Its a pretty famous pub and even have its own singing star Jason Owen from the X-Factor he made to the top I think it was 2 or 3 or something I don't watch the show but it was big stuff going on here at the time. I can remember some years ago watching something about the pub it use to have dirt floor and man would ride right up to the bar on the horse's the dirt floor is gone now and the large trap is only pretty new maybe a year old if that Albert has a very large population of 12 Thanks Greg for looking

Interesting shot Sandy. Publican may think its eye catching enough to get passers by to maybe stop and investigate more. Does say something about our culture, such a small population and still has a pub.

Quite often we will get a group of bikers stop in a Tullamore pub they go for rides out this way ask them where they are heading they always say Rabbit Trap they some are from Orange,Cowra,Parkes,Dubbo have there weekend pub crawl and end up at the Rabbit Trap, the publican has now got about 3 or 4 cabins over the road so accommodation as well. Travelers will get of the main road to call in its a must do part of there travels. Groups from Sydney often spend a night there that is where they go for a birthday. Just a few weeks ago a bunch of guys walked into the Tullamore pub from Scotland,Ireland one was Scot Aussie they all come from Sydney the day before to celebrate a mates 30th there its pretty famous little pub and rightfully so as well
