    Yes, it's a very interesting area geologically speaking. The shot is taken over the Don River near the mouth. At the mouth on bothsides of the river is quite a large area of column basalt in crystalline shapes. (You can recognise some crystaline shape in some of the rocks in the Peli picture). It's not unlike the much larger and better known 'Tescellated Pavement' (think that's spelt wrong) near Eaglehawk Neck down south of Tassie. Here's a couple more shots of the area taken last winter. Gives you a better idea of the structure.

      Thanks for the extra clicks and information. Some interesting shapes and colours have been carved out over the years

        Interesting post, lots of great textures and shapes there to snap. Doesn't look very comfortable for the birds though as I see the rocks strewn throughout the greenery.
