Hi Sandy, you have been a bit heavy handed with your cropping, the bottoms of all the bottles, and glasses and been cropped off, if they were there in the initial image.
You have done the same thing with your image of the taps, I think its too far to the left could have been more central in the frame and again included the bottom of the taps.
In 1 again I think the taps could have been more central in the frame, with perhaps a much shallower DOF which would take a lot of the background clutter out of the image, I also think the image would have been better if you had been more central when taking the photo. One part of the BG shows shelving behind the bar, the other 25% shows a doorway, I think it would have been a better image just showing the shelving behind the bar with a shallower DOF.
thanks Gordon no others wont disagree you are 100% right mate these are just snapshots however if I may offer a little self deference here I was a crowed pub and a very small room I wanted to see how the taps would look for a more serious shoot later on down the track. I really liked the end result of the crop and PP work I did of the shelf I wish the bundy bottle was not there. the side of view of the taps apart from not showing the taps or having the ice thing a little higher this is the image I was hoping for the area I had to take this is ( first I am sure you have been a pub ?) most pubs have a little door way that opens up or close. This only a narrow opening staff to come in and out from behind the bar and patients to go though if they are paying by card so had to be fairly quick I wanted to see what looking though the taps would look like so for me this is almost what I wanted just a little more of the ice thing at the bottom here is the original untouched of the bottles on the self looked like
I agree with the front view of the taps I could have taken another step or so side was for a more serious photo and not in a crowed bar I will have the luxury of doing just that.
why does the uploaded version of this image look so faded compare to one I have on my comp any way the purpose of this image is to show Gordon what I had taken I like the arty farty effect I have done but also wish I could have gotten that bloody candle out of the image while working on this
Saw the first pic...got up...went downstairs...opened the fridge...opened a beer...went back up stairs....and here I sit an sip.
The image worked for me.
Well I think the first two images are great -
the colours of #1 are very vibrant and really grab my attention, and
the wonderful shine of the taps in #2 and the drip coming off the mechanism is beaut
I can see the exact point-of-focus in #2 and the rest all follows from there - it works for me
I don't care if some of it is missing - a qwik look at it and I can immediately see the whole story
Have you got any more??
Mikey thanks Phil thanks for the CC on the other aspects of the photos Gordon is also right about the composition of the photos but apart from the composition I am still quiet happy with these and yes the drip of water on the tap thing to me looks good as well.
Thanks PP sorry taken so long to get back to these to see your comments
