Tray or roof rack Jenne, never on the ground. Got a better bed there then I have at home lol.

Not much nightlife about, you can hear a pin drop out here at times.

Scorpions and centipedes worry me more than anything else at night lol! They won't kill but can deliver plenty of ouch.

Nice shots Mick, I can remember camping on the banks of the Fitzroy at Camballin years ago, and I even ventured in for a swim. Wouldnt do that now!!

Mick with all the home from home accessories, I can't see the kitchen sink!!

Astonishing number of crocs out that way now Gordon and large numbers of bull sharks too. Crocs are mainly freshies but many maximum size critters, caution required when near the banks at all times. Great area for cherabin though!

Oh, the kitchen sink is probably behind the mini-bar next to the plasma tv, down the hall then turn left, up the stairs and your nearly there.

It amazes me the junk people have to take camping/travelling these days

I just bought a 1200 watt battery pack in case of another flat battery. But again it's just more weight, but lighter and less expensive than a second battery. lol i will never have a flat battery again

I live rough and keep it simple as I can but if going bush for a week or so I want some toys to keep myself amused.

Doesn't take long for the back of the ute to fill up!

I'll want books to read, my guitar, fishing gear, camera gear, lappy, solar panels, deep cycle battery, fridge, inverters, tools and spares, plenty of water and a good stock of non-perishables food as backup, some tarps for shade/rain, chair, swag, mozzie tent and basic cooking gear.

But I draw the line at the sat dish on the roof and the budgie cage, the lappy only comes on long trips and the fishing gear is optional.

Once my shade is up, most times just a small tarp run off the roof rack, it takes me probably two minutes to set up a camp. Being organized is the key.

I travel sometimes with three batteries Ian. Two crankers and a deep cycle for the fridge. They live in the tray and never have to be moved but I wouldn't leave home without at least two on board. With water and battery power I'm happy to have overkill and as I have no communications on board I like to feel I've got things covered.
