Thanks Tim, I am looking forward to you doing a 365!

Anyway, week 2. I had a busy weekend so fell back to just walking up the end of the street to watch the sunset and took the camera along.

Silhouettes againt the failing light. The boat to the left is aptly named "no fixed address".

Wow, you have a lovely view at the end of your street! It is a beautiful photo, I love the softness of the colours in the sky and the silouhettes of the boats, they give the photo a very nice feel

Hey Lloyd congrats on the new project! Love the colours and silhouettes in the first one but feel the image may be stronger with just the cranes, theres a lot happening in this pic. Silhouettes for me work better when the image is simple IYKWIM. The second image is also lovely and it's a shame the boat isn't fully silhouetted, probably impossible given where it's moored, but you get my drift. This is just my opinion ....... Not being negative! Just suggesting ....

Thanks Tania, yes, down the street is a lovely view, unfortunately I cannot afford a house right on the waterfront haha

Thanks Kath, would you believe I lightened it up slightly as it got lost in the water too much. I probably should have got a filter out and slowed the shutter speed down, but all the ones I took a bit later on a 15 and 30 second exposure did not turn out, it was very breezy and the boats were moving too much.

Some nice colours in that sunset and lucky you living in Queensland and being able to get a sunset over the ocean.

Nice work Lloyd, keep 'em coming mate. Are you going to stick to a sunrise/sunset water theme or is it just coincidence?

Thanks Alan, coincidence? I guess it is my favourite thing, but I had not even thought about a theme. Well, OK, here goes with week 3, another similar one. After helping my son move into the new house he brought, then my sister in law as well, all on the same weekend I had zero time for myself, which seems to be another theme lately. So grabbed the bike out late on Sunday afternoon and went for a ride, I have lights so getting back after dark didn't worry me. As usual the S100 went into my pocket and here is the result, another late afternnon shot haha I really need more time to get something different!!!!

What are the vertical lines on the water and sky? I suspect this is a composite images (in camera panorama) where the camera has altered the exposure settings during the sweep.

No, no in camera stuff K1W1, it was rain falling. I could see it in patches all the way across. I just cropped the top and bottom to give the pano look.

Here is another one taken 5 minutes earlier K1W1, it was threatening rain even then. I'll put it this way I had the S100 in a ziplock sandwich bag just in case and just as well because I did end up getting rained on anyway haha

That's amazing. That line with the light and dark just right of centre in the first photo bugs me. I feel sorry for you having to live in what is obviously very difficult conditions based on the second photo.

I can't believe how much rain we have been copping this year!! I love your photo with the glasshouse mountains in the background.

Thanks Sandy, go on, join in and do a 52. There is heaps of stuff you could shoot out your way, you know you want to!
yeah Lloyd I am not really really 100% sure I know what it is just take a certain amount of photos at the same place or something like that.

still watching though and learning from all here for sure.

Lloyd I don't just like saying WoW but that 2nd photo has a WoW factor for sure love it and photo number 3 is very calming I think IMO

I really like the one of the passage - certainly looks bleak though.

Thanks Guys. I am running late this week! I went to post last night but yay for Telstra no internet at home all evening.

                              Something different this time.

                              5D2, 24-105 @ 105mm, F4 ISO1600 1/10 sec. Lucky the lens has good image stabilization haha

Taken in the city on Sunday night. Mike and I went in to see the Brisbane Winter Festival but got rained out 5 minutes afer we arrived. Lucky both our bags had all weather covers.
