My daughter on the beach...

you wouldn't think it was summer here as it was quite chilly down at the beach. Slowly getting back into taking photos and am loving the clarity of the 5D.

Here is my willing subject. I would appreciate comments and thoughts on this. Also, preference for colour or bw?

Beautiful Kate. Lovely confident eyes (hand angle and sleeve look a bit odd/distracting to me if I had to be picky ). Has to be B&W IMHO

I agree about the hand angle Alan - most people would have their hand facing upwards I believe but she is a bit double jointed so her limbs go in all manner of directions at times! However, I loved the look on her face enough to not throw this one away. And the more I look, the more I like the black and white too.

Kate your daughter is very pretty ( but you already know that ) I agree with the hand and sleeve but her face makes up for that she has very pretty eyes I like the B&W best as well.

Personally I like to see an open hand on the face, i'e. you can see the fingers (provided nails are done), BUT this works for me here.
Good solid intense expression and great eye contact.

Oh I have a couple more but this was the best one. The others were more for fun actually. I get a very short window with her for these things and she doesn't like this shot of her at all because 'her eyes look squishy'. lol I did post a different one on my blog so I will post it here too....it was her idea!
