  • Storm close by - watch out for rain

    G'day everyone

We're near Bowenville, a bit east of Dalby in Q and we've actually seen rain for the first time in months. Well a few spots but didn't even get to use the wipers on the MH. It looked 'impressive' as it approached, but fizzled as it got here

    As always - feedback welcome
    Phil

We got some, you made me go and have a look at the rain gauge -29mm not to be sneesed at(1). We had a mm last week and a sprinkle that didn't measure before that enough to start greening the place.
Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

Lovely shot Hans and glad to see you guys getting some rain. We're forecast for wet wet wet today with storms and 40mm! Good times ahead for you and green grass!

Nice vista in the Bowenville shot Phil. I'm sure this will be the scene real soon. Photoshop can make it dark and gloomy and also make it rain!

        G'day fellas

Ah - you're all a miserable mob pokin' fun at me that way - maybe the grindstone is needed again
Like Hans - the area we were staying at only got a few splots, whereas others up to 100km around got heaps more
And Isac .... keep your bluddy rain to yerself mate - I'm happy with sunshine [but I'm not a desperate farmer who is waiting & waiting & waiting]

Thanks for the advice Phil. We do need the rain we are getting here so we'll keep it and stockpile it in our dams for future use.
I know farming is important and probably deserves to get help from any quarter (including from Government), but doesn't every other business that is struggling deserve the same considerations? I know of several farmers who made millions when the seasons were good to them and their accountants told them to SPEND - SPEND - SPEND!!!. I think they should have put a little away for a NON rainy day just like others who choose private enterprise as their income source. This is only my opinion which I'm legally allowed to have
