  • Not sure whether this is a 'keeper' or an also-ran

    G'day all

Another image from this morning's before-brekky walk, getting the early morning colours etc

While chasing another pic entirely, this buzz-box zoomed thru the picture area ~ and I am unsure whether to junk it or keep it

    Exif - Fuji X-s1; 1/1500s x f8,0; EV +1,0; 210mm [ff equiv]; iso-100

ps- the exposure is set to +1,0 EV to prevent the image becoming a silhouette - even tho it does cause the water highlights to blow out

My issues with the image is that "it just doesn't excite me" ~ so it's very likely to go the way of 2/3 of my images ...... zap-klunk

    Your thoughts are welcome
    Phil

It doesn't do much for me Phil - and if doesn't excite you either - well..............

What would you do with it if you 'kept' it?

If unsure, it's not going to take up much space on a HD

It's a photo I'd keep for a rainy day to see if I could turn it into something I like. The best challenge to me is to try and take one of my uninspiring images (have plenty of those) and try and work it into something I like. The best thing is all the photoshop techniques that I explore and learn along the way. It also helps me look more deeply and critically into my image.

          ^^+1.

I'd file it in the 'too hard' basket and let it sit for a while. I have a number of too hard baskets overflowing with potential masterpieces.

The skier forms a good parallel line with the groyne, like the position of the tall post, like the quirky shapes, so it has some interesting elements. The blown highlights would make me lean towards a high contrast b&w ...maybe. Just thinking out loud.

Think it has some potential. Difficult to get what I see in it from the mini size, but something like this:

I will be honest, it doesn't appeal to me either.
