now you are getting somewhere Sandy. What a nice composition.

With a little PP it's worth a frame I reckon

Rework edits are usually done in a minute or soon a laptop in a room with variable lighting and will not be perfect and mustbe seen and read as a editing/photography guide only.

All comments must be taken as just my personal thoughts and how I read theimage. I was not there when the photo was taken and I can only guess thecolours, conditions and the reason the photo was taken in the first place

I like the composition and the crop you got those and the leading lines of the trees on the left and the crops in the centre spot on.
How did you process it? I looked at it full size on Flickr and there is a huge amount of detail smearing. It's almost like you used a watercolour filter or similar in Photoshop.

P.S. You also just need to crop a minute bit more on the left there is something had against the left edge all the way up (door frame of car?).

Thanks Kiwi I also opened it up big in Flicker fullscreen I mean but I can't see what you see there is a huge amount of detail smearing. It's almost like you used a watercolour filter or similar in Photoshop.

I did this in LR 3 even though its 3 I had it but never used much but now I use it all the time. It did not take a lot of PP just a little levels I think its called and a very slight touch of a few other sliders but I can't remember what as I have been working on a few photos today I most likely would not remember anyway. I also can't see any thing on the left hand side either my car was behind me and I was out in the bush later you might see some more photos showing the road I went on this is near a very small town called Fifield about 20 30 klicks from where I live unless there was something out in the paddock I wish I could see what you mean so I can fix it. Thanks for you comments Kiwi

Open the photo full size on Flickr there is a very thin black line right up the left edge. You can see it in the first image you posted if you look at the sky.

          This is the left edge

As far as smearing this is a crop from the centre of the image. No detail its all smeared.

I'm not sure what settings you have in your camera or how you process but there is something wrong somewhere if that is not what you intended. Can you post an absolutely unedited copy of the photo? (Go to Lightroom right click on the image and use "Create a virtual copy" then on the copy it creates reset it back to default using the big reset button and just upload that to Flickr).

That doesn't happen during upload. What does a 100% crop of the original look like on your PC?

To be honest I can't see anything that is actually in focus. Hopefully others will look.
At f10 and presumably focussed at or near infinity I would have expected much more detail.

One thing I did notice is that there is way, way less noise in the blue sky. For a person who says that they hate digital noise you introduced and awful lot into the first photo. Have a look at the blue at 100% in both images and see what I mean.

The point is that there is way more noise after editing than there was in the beginning so whatever you did you created noise.

Yep K1W1 , I was going to say earlier I thought it was not in focus
                          but I didn't want to sound like a broken record with Sandy's photos , so I didn't post ,

Because no one else had said anything about focus , I was starting to doubt my own eyes

A landscape photo like that @ f/10 , how can it possibly not be in focus

Yep fair enough , your shutter speed 1/350 should be fine , focal length 105mm .

                              Buggered if I know .
