  • Late night chopper flight

    G'day all
A couple of nights ago I was overnighting up the street from a hospital to find the emergency chopper coming & going twice the same night. The first time I just watched for interest, but when it returned later I grabbed the Panny for some grab shots - all hand held

    1) chopper coming in to land on helipad, under strong floodlights

    As always - feedback welcome

I agree with Greg, not easy to get the lighting right for that. At least you have it

        G'day fellas

Yes - it was not an easy set of images to do, heaps of tech things against it working - but I am amazed at the difference between this and back in film days [with iso-1600 as the max available & a lens of maybe F5,6 max aperture]

and here's 2 more pics from the following night...
        a)

        b)

        Exif again ... Panny FZ-200; 1/40s x F2,8; lens at 415mm [FF equiv]; iso-3200; hand held

These last two worked much better. Pretty damn good for hand held!

Better work with these Phil. They catch the moment and that's all you need in these situations. Detail is good to get the people in the chopper.

Thanks fellas .... and yet again I am pleasantly surprised at what the small sensor of the FZ-200 can deliver
