Great shot of the sky! Hard to get your head around how much is out there and how insignificant we are in the scheme of things.

Thanks Greg. That's what I love most about Milky Way photography.

Then can you believe that the Milky Way is so insignificant in the larger scheme. (But it does make a nice photo)

I know isn't that fantastic. We are a blip of a blip.

Diagonals are powerful composition tools, the angle of the Milky Way and the tree on RHS really give this image some punch. The numerous triangles formed and the bands at the bottom give this image a very strong and pleasing composition.

Great mood, it certainly has a 'wish I was there' feel to it.

Thanks Mick. It's a shame the grass was ripped up in places by inconsiderate a holes. Would have liked that light to pick up the frost on the ground rather than the tyre tracks.

Great colours and lines as mentioned. Nice processing on the MW too - something I find difficult to get right.

Thanks Alan. It's very easy to go over the the top with it. I try not to if possible.

Beautiful. You can see how cold it was by the tyre tracks!! The sky is magnificent.

Sadly Lloyd that was the D***head bridge that must have camped there recently. Very frustrating.

Great image Todd. I have done my share of desert and remote traveling and always wanted to capture images like this. My problem it that I usually consume too much amber fluid to be able to work the camera effectively when the time comes to take the photo's. I must be more disciplined.
If I may ask where was this image taken and what were the settings?

Thanks John, This was in the NSW Snowy Mountains not far from Tumbarumba, From memory it was f2.8, iso 3200 and shutter of either 15 or 20 seconds.

                        Thanks,
Do you have any problems with condensation on the lens when doing these shots?

Not on nights like that. Was about -6c so any moisture in the air was frost before I even pulled the camera out.
