Thanks for your insight Mick. Yes I think your B&W version has merit.

I remember I had a preconceived idea of how I wanted this shot to look, I didn't exactly achieve what I was after. Trying to exclude some unwanted things around the scene didn't work in my favour, it could have done with a bit more room.
It was actually a bit more well lit than it looks here, as there are quite a few streetlights, but I underexposed the shot to exclude a colour bond fence and some buildings in the background.

If I get the chance I might try to re-shoot it sometime.
