  • Milky Way

Had a couple of goes over 2 nights (3rd was completely cloud covered) shooting the Milky Way. Haven't processed night two yet but a couple from our first night. Tried to light the rock with a small led torch but think I prefer the silhouette shot. The Milky Way was much higher in the sky than here - maybe something that happens the further north you go.

They both have appeal, the 1st with the foreground interest and the 2nd for the detail and colour in the milky way. I keep saying it...but I must find a spot nearby to try this soon!!

I think I prefer the second one too.
The hill detracts from the actual target of the shot!!

Agree with Scott. I prefer the processing of the sky in #2 as well

You are getting good at this type of image P Plates. I like them both - because the effects are different from one another,

Thanks everyone. Getting better capturing the shot but the PP is still very hit and miss and when it does work, remembering exactly what I did next time.

Like them both but somehow I think prefer the first one. If you could have raised the light on the rock and highlighted the top of the rock rather than the bottom. Just my opinion, but still interesting photos

Thanks Greg and Gordon. That rock was about 15 feet high and my little led probably ran out of oomph before getting to the top
