Had a couple of goes over 2 nights (3rd was completely cloud covered) shooting the Milky Way. Haven't processed night two yet but a couple from our first night. Tried to light the rock with a small led torch but think I prefer the silhouette shot. The Milky Way was much higher in the sky than here - maybe something that happens the further north you go.

They both have appeal, the 1st with the foreground interest and the 2nd for the detail and colour in the milky way. I keep saying it...but I must find a spot nearby to try this soon!!
What if there were no Hypothetical questions?

You are getting good at this type of image P Plates. I like them both - because the effects are different from one another,I Shoot A Canon

I just fired myself from cleaning my house.
I don't like my attitude and I caught myself drinking on the job.

Like them both but somehow I think prefer the first one. If you could have raised the light on the rock and highlighted the top of the rock rather than the bottom. Just my opinion, but still interesting photosCanon, 5D MK3 5D Mk11 300mm f2.8, 28-300 f3.5-5.6, 70-200 f2.8, 100 Macro.
