  • Stars and Full Moon

After the awful weather we've had here recently, it was nice to have a still night on the 6th. The bright, rising moon didn't help with the star exposures, but it did illuminate the trees off the back verandah.

Stunning pics - just looked at EXIF - 1/30 fine but what lens were you using to be down at 7-11mm?

I'm wondering how you managed a 1250 iso and yet your photos are blotch free.
And, (I know grammatically incorrect but it does add emphasis) what a backyard!

Great shots and I think the moonlit trees are beautiful.

Phoenix - the D7000 handles high ISO pretty well. These are a bit noisy - I had Noise Reduction turned off to save processing time

I also did a pano (7 vert shots) which took a bit of warping in post to get right

That is beautiful!!!! love the blue in the sky and the lighting in the trees. Quite like the lights of the city on the horizon.

And I believe the term is blotchless.

Niiiice mate............I was a tad confused at first with the relative angles of the trees, but then read you had done a pano............all makes sense now.

It's amazing how crisp the moonlight is on a landscape with a bit of a long exposure. Fun stuff mate. Looks like you enjoyed yourself!
