Actually I've been hanging out for some storms Lloyd, not a drop of rain here before xmas. Monsoon trough sitting over us for the last week has changed all that lol. Now all the roads are under water and will probably stay that way for a while.

Gotta love a good wet season

really nice light in the first.

was wishing somehow to see more of that sky

not sure on the last, dont think the plain sky serves any purpose,
worth cropping 1/3 or so of top for pano. imho

      nice shots

Cheers Stephen. You raise a valid point about the sky in the second. I suppose I'm trying to include a lot of space in my Kimberley images because the emptiness and vastness of the region really strikes a chord with me.

It will work better in some images than others probably, thanks for commenting though as it always gives me food for thought and that's the sort of feedback I'm looking for. Appreciated.

These are awesome! Once I got over the amazing lightning in the first image I had a good look around the rest of it and was blown over by the beautiful tones in the grasses and the silky water. There's another photo lurking out there!

I am very excited about your 2nd image! My first thought was pano - it'd be awesome. I'm suggesting a vertical pano capturing the moon and just one tree, the one under the moon to the right a little bit. This would emphasis the size of the sky which compliments the rest of your pics which shows the enormous space of where you are. On the iPad at the moment but think I have an app that'll crop so I can see what it would look like.

            Loves these long exposures!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Snapseed for cropping this gem. You could go further with this and tidy up the edges where the other trees encroach, buts that's subjective.

Cheers Twisty. It was all about getting the lightning strike at first but has turned out much better than I planned. Little bit of luck there and I'm not complaining.

Love the crop! Gee you have a good eye TN, like what you've done here.

                Thanks for taking the time.

Long exposures open up many possibilities and I'm enjoying doing them immensely. Some wonderful colours and tones are hidden in the shadows.

sheesh, i like all of them including the last reworked portrait pano!

you have some really nice light in that first one, good tonal range for a lightning shot!

Upon second look, that portrait crop of the second image is a definite winner in my books...

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

I like the vertical pano crop too, well spotted that.
I still like the landscape pano crop too.
comes down to personal taste in the end.

Having a long lens helps Angel, these storms were many miles away.
