Charles - I'm seeing a new side to you - your botanical knowledge is as impressive as your skills with the new lens. So sharp and lovely light.

I've never seen this flower before - is it a native?

Thanks for your very kind comments Alan! But I can take no credit for growing these wonderful little plants.

Auriculas are apparently a cross betwee two European alpine primulas. They arrived in England in the late 16 cent where they remained popular with plants-people up to the present day. Being alpine plants, they are a challenge to grow in the "Heat Wave Capital" of Australia, Adelaide, although the hills where we are is a bit cooler.

Elizabeth obtained her original stock from a grower in Tasmania.

Thanks mate. You have to be a bit of an enthusiast to grow them, and they need cool conditions. Hence, they are a bit rare.

                  What a beautiful set!

The second in particular is a standout for me. Perfect dof, great composition, wonderful background with complimentary colours, excellent exposure, just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
