    Lovely images Kevin, my pick would have to be #2. That Canon glass is doing a fine job.

      Thanks,I agree #2 is the better shot. I love my 100mmL, the IS is a real bonus as I`m always using small apertures. f18 is as wide as I go to get usable DOF.

    Another couple of good shots Kevin. Your setup seems to working well for you. That first one I think is a Squash Bug but have no idea on the second one.

      Not sure on their species, need to find a good Bug app.

    Both nice and sharp with good lighting but #2 is my preference with its excellent subject isolation. What lighting are you using.

      Thanks, I use a Canon Ring Flash on manual usually around 1/32 power synced to the shutter speed.

    Some cool coloured bugs there Kevin. All Shield bugs I think. The last pair are very regally coloured....MAcro or Close-up??

      You could be right about the breed, these are Macro 1:1 ratio.
