Not as sharp as I'd expected, the pencil that is.
I'd like to do a comparison shot, so if you remember could you supply the EXIF data. plus distance of focal plane to subject, and distance of subject to background.

Here is my pencil image for comparison. Obviously the lighting conditions were not the same, but I have tried to use the same settings as you did. You have Multi-segment as your Metering Mode, Multi-segment is a Focus Mode (AFAIK). I have used Spot Metering for my shots.

Well they are sort of similar. I guess your available light was not as strong as mine, hence the slow shutter speed? I think both lenses do really well.
You say you used NIK Define, did you have grain problems?
Your pencil seems a bit sharper than mine

I always run Dfine as part of my PP procedure.

No NIK.

Your call to run Define, do you think it needs it though? Very hard to pick the difference with those shots.

I agree Isac, not much difference between the two. As I said it's a part of my regular PP work, and it does not make the image worse. in any way.
