The reason I asked, was that if you only shoot JPG, you can still use the Camera Raw program to make adjustments BEFORE it loads into Photoshop. I recall you use CS6.
To give it a try, here's how to set it up:
1. Open PS and on the top menu select: EDIT > PREFERENCES > FILE HANDLING
2. Check "Prefer Adobe Camera Raw for Supported Raw Files"
3. Above that, click on "Camera Raw Preferences"
4. At the bottom of the 5 sections at "JPEG and TIFF Handling", at JPEG: select "Automatically open all supported JPEGs"
5. Click OK at the top to got back to the "Preferences" window and click OK. And it's done.
Now, every JPG file you open will open first in Camera Raw.
If you don't like it you can always reverse it.
