  • Some tips on macro photography

    I subscribe to DPs and get regular emails from them. I thought that I would pass this on to our marco photographers here. i would be interested to hear your thoughts.

    Some good tips in there to get you started John.
    Your technique and settings depend a lot on what you are trying to photograph and how you want to depict it. Over time you will develop your own style and adjust techniques and settings to suit.
    I would suggest use these tips to get started, and get out there and practice,practice, practice....... that’s when you will start to see results.

      Thanks for the feedback Brad. I wasn't asking just for myself, but for anyone interested in macro photography.
      I notice that he did not mention using flash, and that some of his suggestions seemed to contradict each other.
      I can imagine that there is a world of difference between macro shots of flowers, which are generally stationary, and insects which tend to move erratically.
