          They are one of the few that react to the pre-flash, most of the time. Nice shot.

              It's the pre-flash they are reacting to, not the full flash. Pre is for TTL exposure metering, AFAIK, and is just before the shutter opens so they have a little time to vanish from the frame. Best to use manual flash to get these guys but I just wait for one to stay still, preferably early morning after a cooler night.
