DIFs. What next? You are setting the bar pretty high here you know. Some of us here are pretty happy to get the occasional BIF of the larger variety.

I see you use CS3, do you use any noise reduction programs such as Noise Ninja 2 or Topaz DeNoiser 5? You had a reasonably high ISO at 800 which has created some noise in the shot, removing that noise would be an improvement.

Didn't use any noise reduction at all. (Don't have a program for that apart from what's included in CS3) The shot is taken with the Big Sigma 150-500 and the dragonfly is over water which has a lot of submerged and semi submerged weed. I have also cropped quite tightly to keep the image over a shaded area of water to avoid too much surface glare.
This was the best of about 20 odd attempts at guessing where the dragonflys might hover with manual focus set to an area they seemed to frequent.

You missed the focus on the eyes,the wings are OOF and the background is grainy,and I wish I`d thought of trying this with my Siggie,I still haven`t got a descent BIF with mine,let alone a Dragonfly.

Thanks Kevin, I know there's a lot 'wrong' with the shots but I had fun doing it. Never expected perfection, but glad I got something you can recognise as a dragonfly in flight.
