This is Mr Snail from day 270 (today) of Project 365 and I entered him in a photo comp today .. that Camera House Photo Friday.
    1/40 sec, F11 ISO 200

CC would be good if you have it .. Are those his testicles that are hanging from his mouth ? if not they look like it :P

Nice clear detailed shot, a little more DOF would have been nice but otherwise very good.

Well done Anna. Focus is good (on eyes), plenty of detail, well composed. Did you use a tripod for this?

No they are not the testicles hanging from the mouth. Snails are hermaphrodite (possess both male and female reproductive organs).

      Good luck with the competition.

          Thnx guys.
Herby, no I didn't use a tripod. I was crouching then knealing down as he was on a small bit of branch in a billycan that was on the bench.

Edit: eaglem, yes i agree about bit more DOF

Those shaky hands are getting better. I was taught that when using shutter speeds slower than 1/60 sec you should be thinking about using a tripod.

Thnx Ian. Doubt I will win as there are some colourful entries. However just that ppl think it's good enough is a win for me.

This is a cool shot Anna, good luck with the comp.

I like the dof. The tips of the antennaes* are in sharp focus and I reckon that lifts the image up a notch or two. If the perch was in focus it would posssibly detract from the image so I think you have nailed this. Nice light, great specular details on the ummm..pointy bits!

                      * pointy bits at the front lol.

Not that, just it's pretty bland in colour compared to alot of others. Maybe if he were on a leaf to give a green blurred background instead of dark stuff. Anyways I'm happy I got a good shot.

Thnx Mick .. Appreciate the comments. Out of the bunch, this was the only one that had antennaes in focus and a decent pose but also looking at me.
