  • Pretty beetle

With a tiny bit of the wobbles I managed to get this pretty beetle on my Hibiscus. I have good intel (from Herby) that this is a Ellipsidion humerale aka Bush Cockroach nymph.

When I saw this, I thought someone had pinched MY photo! I took a photo of this little fella's brother just last week on our orange tree. Lovely photo, colours are spot on and lovely DOF. Composition is great too. Well done.

Thnx for the comments .. .. nope didn't grab your photo but I might go for a look to see if I can find it on here (if it's on the forum). This is an improvement on my Slater Beetle so I'm happy about that.

Oh good. I tried a front shot but was too blurred from me moving lol. Yours is fully orange on that first head plate. We WA-ers have pretty bugs

Thanks Anna. Everything in WA is pretty, (especially down your way) not just the bugs. But SSSHHH don't tell those Easterners, or they'll all want to come over here!!

I've lived in NSW, Qld, NT and now WA and I am the most settled here in WA. I usually get itchy feet after 3yrs and want to move but this is our 4th and although it's inevitable that we will due to hubbys job, I will be shell shocked when it happens.

btw we can't have the peeps from the East over here as it will ruin the whole English thing we've got going on.
