  • My first macro shots

I have my new Tamron 60mm f/2 macro lens and these are my first attempts. No Cropping.

#1 - I've called this the "Money Shot" haha.

    #2 - My wife's porcelain dolls 18cm tall.

#3 - Nasty!! (shot 10cm away from it). I noticed it while snapping the dolls.

Good effort for first shots. Your DOF is a little shallow so it may pay to increase your aperture to around F11 to get more of the subject in focus. Remember, the closer you get to the subject the less DOF you'll have so it's better to stand back a bit and get good sharp focus and you can crop later and still maintain that sharp crisp image. Try that out and see how you go.

Thanks for that eaglem, very much appreciated. I will get better I hope - this forum and the members who give advice is great way to improve.

I really quite like the angle and shallow dof of your $2 coin, it has given it more depth and made it more interesting than a straight on angle. Getting the dof right is hard with macro and I am still learning how to use mine

Thanks Tania, I was trying to show off the new lens by doing it like that but eaglem's idea would allow more to be in focus and still retain a quality DOF. Thanks for your feedback.
