  • Spiders

Couldn't find any birds but I did find many spiders - and webs to walk through.

    All Garden Orb-weavers I think.

Spiders are such interesting little creatures. I think they are a similar being to Octopus, basically out of this world..

Great photos, I think you get the odd nasty one in Oz, don't you. Toilet seats come to mind....ouch..

Thanks Mark. I would rank Octopus as more weird than spiders but we encounter spiders more.

Yep, redbacks under the old outside toilet sets. The Funnel-webs and Mouse Spiders are the most dangerous but none of the spiders that build orb webs are dangerous. Redbacks have messy webs in relatively sheltered spots but are very common.

    G'day Alan

As Mark says 'great images' ... but I don't think that they are all the Nephila spiders that I usually see / photo. #1 definitely is not, and #3 might be - bit hard to tell

Thanks Phil. I don’t think either are Nephila. Nephila are relatively smooth and have golden webs. #1 is certainly a common Garden Orb Weaver and #2 is too grey and hairy for a Nephila. The orange colour in the leg is that of the beetle. Probably Garden Orb Weaver also.

Stunning shots Alan, especially the last two.
    Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.
