My companion in a bird hide

I was in a bird hide tryng to photograph a Fairy-wren through one of the openings when I looked down and saw this right in front of me at about chest height. There was another a bit above head height. I was then careful to stay a bit further away. It might have been a metre long and quite slender.

I think it's just a Green Tree Snake but it still gives you a bit of a shock.

They are fascinating animals, but always make me jump when I see one...

A harmless Green Tree Snake I think, although their head usually looks smaller, so not sure. It still gives you a start when you don't see it until you are almost touching it.

Yes, now I have looked them up, a Green Tree Snake seems about right. I read that they no fangs, so does that mean they can give you a nasty suck...

I would think they still have teeth but I’m not going to pick one up to find out. Also I’m not at all confident in my identification skills. Be just great to pick up an Eastern Brown thinking it was a tree snake.
