  • Invasive but Pretty

    Rosa multiflora or Japanese Rose. An invasive species in Eastern North America but it does produce some very nice flowers.

      Yes looking good. Does it create problems?

        It's a climbing shrub that grows dense so it can choke out other plants. It's also incredibly difficult to get rid of.

        We have stuff like that in Australia and its a shock to the system when you see it being cultivated in hot houses in stately homes in the UK.

        Here, it is one of 37 plant species banned by the state department of agriculture. Unfortunately, its been pretty much established for over a century.
