  • Red Bougainvillea flowers

    G'day all

Found these falling over a garden fence and thought that the intense red colour deserved a treat

    As always, feedback welcome

Can't beat a great flower shot Phil. This on - Bougainvillea × buttiana Holttum & Standl - is a beauty.

The reds look a bit blown as is common on modern sensors. Best to underexpose a couple of stops to retain the detail. I always check the histogram red channel to get the exposure right.

A south american plant found all over the world. Obviously the sight of which gives lots of people pleasure. Nice contrast against the green Phil.

Nicely done Phil. Good colour and isolation from the background.
