  • Shingleback

I came across this healthy Shingleback which when I was a kid it was a Skink but now days they call these a Lizard.
The funny thing about these is that no matter how far away it is from its mate. Somehow they manage to find each other
again so they can make more Shinglebacks. This can be miles or Kilometers if you like. But they can be so far apart and
they will not mate with others on their way. They mate for life.
Though I am not sure what happens if one is killed. But I would think then they may find a new mate but I don't know.

    G'day Ralph

Like you, I've seen many of 'em over the years and always enjoy having a 'conversation' with one when I come across it out in the bush
ps- btw-- a nicely detailed image
