As a change from birds we have this battered Hibiscus flower in the garden, It's under exposed but I quite like it.

I like it too mate, it reminds me of a grandmother who is showing signs of her age but is still loved.
To me the lighting is perfect.

Thanks guys, I did try a slight levels adjustment but it just didn't seem to work as well.

I'm another liker of this. Under exposing for flowers is the norm because of the high reflection they give off - especially reds and yellows, so it's good to do that. I like the subtle vignette as well - nice touch to highlight the flower.
Once you get used to Curves, you will very rarely use Levels. I would remove the green bulb above the hibiscus - just for aesthetics

Thanks Isac. Other than basic editing I do very little but I have had a go at your suggestion and see what you mean.

Beautiful shot. I think the exposure suits it well.
    Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.

if underesposure is at work here, it was your friend.
I noticed the green thing right away also and thought it would likely be nicer removed.
    it was.
    well done
