    When things get better I will invest in a good macro lens to get this type of shot again,

      Thanks Ralph. I don't use a macro for these. I shoot at 400mm on my Tamron 18-400 and I can get as close as 100mm.

      You're too kind Phil. I feel pretty lucky that I was able to borrow this lens from a good friend and tog. I just had to buy one. It was $860 a couple of years ago and now they want $1200 for the same lens. Just shows the greed we have to put up with in this country.

      Cheers Alan. The background was a Colorbond fence but the Tammy really does a great job with bokeh when you can get close at 400mm.
      I do shoot a bit unconventionally but I get the results I need. The 7DII seems to easily handle higher ISO.
