Thanks for that Hans and good to see you playing with my stuff What did you do to get that effect? It's definitely brightened it up but pixel peeping it's also removed detail in the hairy strands of the seed pods. Perhaps a curves might work better by adjusting the AUTO method.
Just add a CURVES adjustment layer and hold ALT and click on the AUTO button and use settings like this. You can also change the curves mode to LUMINOSITY or COLOR. That way you keep more detail in the finer parts of the image.

I was working with a screen image which would probably make some difference. I did a screen whatyoucalitt with a curves adjustment to give it a ltle more.
