Very sad to see this sort of thing. I love to see both the birds and the bees but I think there's room for both with a little bit of help from we humans.
I advised the City of Kalamunda when I first saw a couple of bees hanging around the bird box and they said they would relocate them.
Nothing has been done as yet - I had a feeling that would be the case.
It reminded me of on aold song:
To the tune of "Where have all the flowers gone?" by Pete Seeger (1955)
Where have all the birdies gone, long time passing?
Where have all the birdies gone, long time ago?
Where have all the birdies gone?
Bees have moved them, every one
Oh when will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn?

Trivia!
Pete Seeger wrote the first 3 verses and in 1960 Joe Hickerson added 2 more:
Where have all the soldiers gone? and Where have all the graveyards gone.
Pete Seeger shared his royalties (20%) with Joe and it still brings in thousands of dollars to this day.
Listen to The Kingston Trio version (Best IMHO) although I saw Peter, Paul and Mary do it live in Perth when I was young back in the day.
