  • Blue Banded Bee

    First time in all years that I have noticed this Blue Banded Bee. Buzzing around in the pink thistles.

      I wouldn't have a clue Phil. They've always been around but I've never notticed them I guess. Fabulous to see them though.

    I was told they are a native bee. I see a few in the garden each year here in NSW. As opposed to the blue arsed fly!
    Better a full bottle in front of me
    than a full frontal lobotomy.

      We've lost so many great members Hans - such a shame. It seems that the social media giants have lured them over. Facebook, Twitter and Youtube are going to merge and call it "YouTwitFace".

    Good capture Isac. Looks like the same ones I've had visiting the tomato flowers. I've never really noticed them here before.

      They were a surprise to me Alan, never seen them before. But something different away from the regular swarms of hone bees.
