  • When you have nothing better to do --

    G'day all

I suppose we all have days when we're stuck indoors for one reason or another. Several days ago for me it was regular squalls of heavy rain - so what better to do than set 'burst' and 6FPS and see what it looked like

    typical exif- Panny FZ-300; 1/1000s x F3,2; ISO-400; lens at 380mm FFequiv
then put together using Open Office 'Draw' module

    As always, feedback welcome

    Phil

Interesting patterns Phil. Have you ever tried water drops falling into a bowl of water?

I've had a crack at that Alan, just a plastic bag of water with a pin hole and dripping into a tray - works well and you get some pretty cool results.

yes alan - a number of times .... also puddles alongside the farm shed, although those pics also included too much background to make them 'winners'

Nice concept Phil and a good result. So the images are the result of the shutter open for 1.666666666666670 seconds, mathematically speaking!

As Alan suggested, try the water droplet trick. I've had a crack at it, just a plastic bag of water with a pin hole in the bottom of it then hanging it above a tray - works well.

Cheers Alan. I used my mike stand to hang the water bag on an stuck a pin in the bottom to make it drip. I'd like to do the High Speed Photography - Water Drop Collision images one day when I have lots of spare time.
