Shore is bright enough to gain attention not familiar with it though. Looks a bit like crab apple.

They are brilliant colours Phil. That is an African Tulip Tree or Flame Tree (Spathodea Campanulata). I know this because there's a huge one in our street I walk past before I get to the lake. WIKI

        Thx fellas

Isac- I dunno how you get to know so much ... and all too often when I go searching for a bird or flower, I never seem to get anywhere except 'lost in transit'

They are spectacular flowers. My wife’s parents used to have one in their backyard. Nicely exposed to capture the brilliant red.

Hi Phil, I walked past it again this morning and it's definitely an African Tulip Tree. I looked it up a few years ago. So I can recall photos in the future, Although I name the photo correctly, I also place a text file in the folder and name it as something that would help me find it down the track. I did it with this tree and called the file "large red flowers with large banana shaped pods" and in the text file I put the actual name of what it is. It's just the way I do things but I'm sure there are many other ways. I use "Search Everything" for searching and it's blindingly fast. I just searched for banana and it was found before I finished typing!
