    'Scarlet Jezebel'...what a lovely name?

Took this while birding around Canoe Point, Central Qld. I went there to thaw-out and visit my grand-kids.

Sorry, yes you do. I forgot that bit. Doi!

Add the blank layer then I use the crop tool while holding 'Alt' to drag out extra canvas all around, 'Fill & Blur' as above then 'Image > Trim' to get rid of the unused blank pixels. Your image would've grown slightly so you'll need to resize when finished. Save as a PNG.

Which version of PS do you have? I might be able to work out a way of posting the 'Action'

        CS6, that would be great.

I had a play around with you method Gaz and could not duplicate your results. I found this tutorial that worked fine.

Maybe CC2019 and CS6 have some slight differences.

I am with Grumpy on this. What a pleasant image to cast an eye over.

Thanks very much, Tod & Hans...much appreciated.
The sharp-on-soft is pleasing to me and the fact that he(?) landed in an ideal spot helps

Hope this works, John. Download this file (Drop Shadow.atn) to desktop or wherever and hopefully Dbl click and it should open PS and load.

No problems downloading from the link, no password required. The action worked a treat, thanks heaps.

How I add Flatten Layer to the end of the action?

I don't actually flatten the image. You'll need that pixelated layer underneath to be clear and not white. Hope that makes sense?
