  • Took the new lens out today

Took the new Sigma 150-600 lens over to the lake today for a practice run. On first viewing of the images they looked okay, but when viewed at %100 they are not so good. Initially I thought that the lens wasn't focusing properly, but the more I look at the EXIF data I think that the problem could be movement. I will go out again tomorrow with the ISO bumped up so I can achieve a shutter speed of at least 1/1000 Sec.
I was using a monopod and had the OS turned off, I will turn the OS on for tomorrows images.

When I say straight from camera I of course mean converted to JPEG and reduced to meet forum requirements. These images have had no sharpening, or other adjustments.

Is this a shag on a rock? Sorry I don't know my birds very well.

Thank you. Now that I have the lens I need to get the book, or just keep posting here and ask.
