  • Tiger Snake

Found this guy on the track in Victoria. Unfortunately these guys are super shy and I had the wrong lens on so this is a bit of a crop.

Nicely done Todd. I wouldn't know one snake from another so I'd be taking this picture through the window of the car. Having said that I did get out of the car to snap a shot of a grizzly cub crossing the road, so go figure.
Hope you don't mind the hijack

Don't mind at all but isn't that a black bear?

Yes, you're right my bad. Still wouldn't want to argue with his mum.

Wonderful capture and good timing Todd. I have one similar but only of a Bungarra and another of a dugite coming right at me. I'll leave the snake shots to you from now on.
Maybe when you're out and about on the road, stick a zoom on for these occasions. I have the 18-400 Tamron permanently on the 7D and only change it if I need something different. It's only just a thought, and I'm sure you'd have something in your kit that will probably do the trick.
Hey John, this is what the bear was after - Todd's Giant Tiger Snake!

Yeah I often travel with the 300mm lens on however on this occasion I was actually already of the the car doing to landscape stuff when this guy appeared on the track in front of me. I walked over and had no time to swap back.

You are forgiven Todd and it's good to see you normally carry the 300mm as well.
Working...
