  • At the zoo

I spent a few hours at the Melbourne Zoo today trying out my other 70-200 lens, a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 MACRO.
This lens is lighter and shorter than my Sigma 70-200 but does not have image stabilisation. A major drawback for me as I have difficulty holingd a long lens steady without support.

#6 This image is pretty soft. Probably due to camera movement more that focus error. With a focal length of 150mm, I should have had a shutter speed of 1/150 sec. (1/10 rule)

They all seem to past the test for IQ John. Lovely series. These new cameras don't seem phased by high ISO.

Thanks Isac, I was surprised by #3, it was a pretty savage crop and still came up sharp. Definitely no AF issues there.
As a matter of habit I run all my images through Nic Define 2, it does a pretty good job.

How different we are John. I wrote my own actions for sharpening including a sharpening brush which all work for me.

Well captured. Some Oil of Olay needed here!

#3 is a special image John. I can feel a sense of interaction with the Ape. AF is smack on too.
      Cheers, Brad.

Thanks Brad, I'm very happy with this image. It gives me confidence that the camera autofocus is working.

It’s a real bugger that it had that cardboard carton to mess the shot up. Your crop saves it, nice work.
          Cheers, Brad.

It's a lovely shot John. I like the crop. You could put quite a few different captions to describe her thoughts. It's a lady Orangutan - the boy ones have much wider cheeks.
