Bee in flight

After looking at Toddy's post I remembered trying to get bees in flight so went looking and found a couple. I used a Sigma 150mm macro lens and the bees didn't seem bothered by me or the camera - they were very focused on the callistemon flowers.

It took over a hundred shots to get three reasonably sharp in flight (as well as others on the flowers) so it just takes the right flowers, a bit of patience and perhaps fairly docile bees. Keep trying Toddy.

I think eaglem has some shots too.

Interestingly bees have seemed quite scarce around here for some months at least.

It was somewhat frustrating and, to be honest, I was surprised, but pleased, to get any in focus.
