  • Someone's been in for a dawn swim

    G'day all

On my pre-brekky walk the other day I came across this fella sun-drying on a wharf berthing post, following a dawn swim. I dunno whether s/he had a feed though

    1) looking over the shoulder following some noise in the background

    2) Some mates & pelicans on the sandbar 150m away

    3) trying for a neutral background ...

As a ps: ... while I was shooting the bird, two walkers stopped to also take a shot at the bird. Out came the phone - as I walked over to say hello to them - and the resulting phone image showed the front of the boat moored closeby plus a stick sticking out of the water with a black blob [the bird] on top. She [the other photographer was impressed!! I just cringed and kept quiet

    As always, feedback welcome
    Phil

All cool shots Phil, but #1 by a small margin. Love the pose.

Another vote for #1 because of the better light on the bird, but good composition and backgrounds on the others.

Agree with others about the composition of 2 and 3 but the lighting on 1 makes it the best.
I often transfer photos onto my phone and edit with Lightroom mobile. It amazes me the number of people that ask if I took them with my phone.
