  • Freshwater turtles on display

    G'day all

In Ingham Qld recently I wandered around their TyTo Wetlands and saw many of these freshwater turtles swimming and feeding off the plants there

    1- Panny FZ-200; 1/125s x F4, EV -0,3; lens at 625mm [film camera equiv]; ISO-100

    2- Panny FZ-200; 1/125s x F4, EV -0,3; lens at 480mm [film camera equiv]; ISO-100

    As always, feedback welcome
    Phil

Interesting shots, I see they gather a lot of green growth on their shells.

Super hard to get a good shot of a partially submerged anything let alone a moving target. Did you use a polarising filter?

#1 looks OK exposure wise (maybe a little dark) but the turtles facing the other way takes away from the composition.
#2 looks a little overexposed. Bright spots on the head of each turtle take away the part where you want the most detail.

        G'day Toddy

Yeah mate - I was caught without my polarisinig filter and reflections of the water's surface was a "reel bugga" ~ I tried a bit of EV underexposure and these are the better images

Pretty good for no CP filter Phil. I have in the past used my sunnies (polaroids) held in front of the lens to get the same effect as a CP filter - it works a treat

I like them all, great little creature, for me at times it’s the subject and the technical aspects of the shot takes second place. (Spending a week or so in hospital so my posting is a bit restricted compared to usual).
