The Callistamon you mention is a bottle brush. I would be more inclined to think it is a wax leaf privet.

I just checked out pages of the Wax Leaf Privets but couldn't find one with flowers like this but it could be a species.

A good find...........there is a large Lillypilly tree behind this one but is a different species.
