he was sunning on some rocks I needed to walk on. didnt want to disturb him so backed back a tad, took a few pix and made a detour around him.

thanks folks. he was watching me alright!, just had to keep out of his flight range. usually you can get a feel of how close to be before they run. was on my way to try to find an owl or two to check on them. put up a pic of the female but I think it got overlooked.............

thanks folks. these things failry common around here. depending on how much grief people give them determines how close they will let you get. less inclined to move on cooler days too.
I was happy to be able to bypass him with out disturbing his efforts at warming up.
