Agree with Todd, #1 is fabulous. Those clouds are amazing.

I like the second stiched together picture better, though the quality is not as good. Put the camera on manual to have the same exposure for both shots. than stiched using the Canon software. Fudged the join as it was obtrusive in the center. Quickly played with levels and sharpened a bit. There is probably better software for the stiching but it's a rare thing.

For any stitching I only use I.C.E. It's the Microsoft IMAGE COMPOSITE EDITOR from their research team. It's free and amazing.. Give it ago, you'll be pleased.

I keep coming back to #1 Hans and the clouds I think could do with a boost to add a bit of drama. I used a couple of layer masks to darken the blacks and brighten the whites then added a bit of selective lighting to the lower portion. I might do a tutorial, as it's pretty cool. It seems to work better than just darkening the sky.

That cloud is starting to look quite frightening. I will look forward to seeing the tutorial.

Taken a few minutes after the other one. This would also benefit with more drama and could be better. I did get it sharpened a bit more.Click image for larger version

That does look scary enough for me Hans. The only thing I would do to the clouds, it is lower the amount of blue in them, but whether or not that was the actual colour, only you can tell.

That was close to it. I have not changed the colour. I will have a look with less blue.

I like both shots Hans. The spectacular clouds in the first and the beautiful glowing light in the second. Well done.
