The Wedgetail Eagle sure got the attention of the goats. A minute later there were four eagles rapidly climbing the updraft. Must have been a family.

Thank you some details. Sigma18-250mm at F8 at 1/400 focus at 120meters at 250mm Canon 60D (Exif) My everything lens as I don't want to carry lots of gear. Would not have had the time to put the 100-400mm Canon lens on to take this picture. Very small amount of post editing

I have the same lens and it's garbage, so I never use it. I can't even give it away. You are a lucky one to have it so sharp.

I wonder if it can be adjusted? Was it like that new?

Thank you. Saw the eagle flying past the window so grabbed the camera. They cover an amazing quantity of ground. They use the hill for lift. Just happened that the goats were at this spot. They also cover a lot of ground moving all day.

Always a large element of chance and luck in these sort of pictures. Happy with my cheap lens. I am sure the ones that cost 300% more would be better but find it hard to justify.

Interesting photo - lots going on there and quite sharp

Interesting comment also by ISAC. I feel the same way about my Tamrom 16-300 - occasionally it produces the goods - but not enough to justify it's purchase - you get what you pay for

I paid about $300 plus some freight. Now looking at maybe adding the Canon 10-18 zoom as I feel the need for more angle more frequently than the other way around. It is about the same price.

I have the 10-18 lens and it's fantastic. Great wide shots at 10mm. I have a real estate photographer friend who uses one in small rooms and he's happy with it too.
